TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Willie Williams Classic on Saturday. The Wildcats won two events and earned two second-place finishes.

"I needed this second day to really make me feel better about where we're at as a team coming into the outdoor season," head coach Fred Harveysaid. "I told the team earlier, we have a lot of work to do. We had some very good performances this weekend. We know the talent level is there but we need to work harder and work smarter so that we're getting the type of performances in the next couple of meets that we were getting during the indoor season."

In her debut of the 2012 season, junior Georganne Moline won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.13. The quartet of sophomore Shapri Romero, senior Echos Blevins, junior Shale' Garland and Moline won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:37.80. For the men's 400 meters, junior Chris McSwain clocked a personal-best time 47.58, good for second place. Junior Clifton Leake came in third place, running the 400 meters in 47.75. The men's 4x400-meter relay team consisted of Leake, McSwain, junior James Eichberger and sophomore Sean Delfani.

"We did have a lot of good things happen this weekend; getting Georganne Molineback really set my weekend off nicely," Harvey said. "She opened up and ran 54.13 in the 400 meters and that really put our 4x400-meter relay that won today, in a really nice position in terms of having four, five or even six ladies that can run for us."
