TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat No. 11 men's and No. 18 women's track and field teams closed out the Jim Click Shootout on Friday with a school record and 13 individual wins. The meet was scored on a conference-by-conference basis, the Pac-12 won with 460 points. The Big 10 took second with 422.3 points and the ACC came in third with 288.6 points.

Junior Georganne Moline set the UA record in the women's 400-meter hurdles, winning the race with a mark of 56.02. The record was previously set by Michelle Johnson who clocked a time of 56.71 in Atlanta, Georgia on June 14, 1996. Moline's mark is a personal best and is also the best time in the country this year.

"Georganne (Moline) is a person that I've always felt had the chance to be one of the countries top hurdlers," head coach Fred Harvey said. "She's had great training but she's had some really bad breaks as we've gone through her last three years. To watch her go today was such a satisfying moment because we've always known she had that type of ability. She put it all together and ran the fastest time in the country and a school record in her first hurdle race of the year. I'm ecstatic with where she's at."

"Honestly, all I thought about was practice," Moline said. "Coach Harvey always tells me to run with confidence so that's all I really thought about. I know how to run this race I just had to put it into effect."

Junior Brigetta Barrett won the women's high jump competition with a clearance of 6-4.25 (1.94m), the top mark in the country. On the men's side, junior Edgar Rivera-Morales won with a mark of 7-4.5 (2.25m), tying the top mark in the country. Junior Nick Ross cleared 7-3.25 in the high jump, good for second. Ross also competed in the long jump, earning a third place-finish with a personal-best mark of 24-7.25 (7.50m).

Senior Stephen Sambu won the 1,500-meter race with a personal-best time of 3:43.56. That mark is also the best time in the country. Junior James Eichberger took third with a personal-best time of 3:46.69. For the women, Junior Elizabeth Apgar won the women's 1,500-meter race with a time of 4:29.22. Kibet took second with a personal-best time of 4:29.26.

Junior Tyler Johnson won the men's hammer throw competition with a toss of 203-4 (61.98m). Junior Alyssa Hasslen won the women's shot put, throwing a personal-best mark of 58-1 (17.70m).

Senior Echos Blevins won the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 53.38. Sophomore Shapri Romero took second with a personal-best mark of 53.61. On the men's side, sophomore Sean Delfani also clocked a personal-best, running the race in 47.30. He earned a second-place finish.

Sophomore Lawi Lalang won the 800-meter race with a time of 1:49.54. Sophomore Elvin Kibet took fifth in the women's 800-meter race, clocking a personal-best time of 2:14.86. Freshman Kenji Bierig won the men's steeplechase, also clocking a personal-best time of 9:37.77. Junior Jen Bergman ran the 3,000 meters in 9:46.45, good for first place.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of freshman Thomas Moronta, junior Chris McSwain, sophomore Sean Delfani and junior Clifton Leake clocked a time of 41.01. That mark was good for a second-place finish. Arizona ran the women's 4x400-meter relay with Sophomore Tamara Pridgett, Blevins, senior Ariel Coleman and Moline, winning the race with a time of 3:34.37. The women's quartet of Pridgett, junior Shale' Garland, senior Dahlys Marshall and sophomore Germe Poston took fourth with a time of 45.07.

"We wanted to see, as a team, what we could be in terms of being competitive with the top competition in the country," Harvey said. "Every single event had probably the top six or seven marks in the country for that event and we were apart of that. We had athletes really stepping up and showing that they're capable of being competitive with the best people in the country."

Arizona will return to the track next weekend in Palo Alto, Calif. for the Stanford Invitational.
