TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat No. 13 men's and No. 8 women's track and field teams competed in the annual Arizona-Arizona State-Northern Arizona Double Dual Meet on Saturday. The Arizona State men beat Arizona by a score of 110 to 86. The Arizona State women won over Arizona by a score of 101 to 96. Arizona's men beat Northern Arizona by a score 120.50 to 62.50. The UA women outscored Northern Arizona by a margin of 125 to 53. Arizona State's men scored 114 to Northern Arizona's 66 while the Arizona State women had a score of 136 to Northern Arizona's 56. This meet was not part of the State Farm Territorial Cup, the top finisher at the Pac-12 Championships will determine who earns the points.

Junior Georganne Moline won the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.37. That is the second-best time of her career. Moline entered the event as the collegiate leader in the event and she holds second-best time in the world at 55.25. On the men's side, junior Clifton Leake clocked a personal-best time of 51.89, good for first place in the event.

"I wasn't too happy with my 400-meter hurdle race," Moline said. "There were some technical things I should have done a lot better. But, for me not having a perfect race and still getting a decent time, I wasn't too upset. Our 4x400 team, we did really well, so I'm happy. Overall, it was a good day. (Going into the conference championships) I'm feeling really confident; I know I'll pull through."

Junior Brigetta Barrett won the women's high jump with a clearance of 6-4 (1.93m). That is the fourth time this year she has cleared 6-4 or better. She remains the collegiate leader in the event and is tied for the top mark in the world. On the men's side, juniors Nick Ross and Edgar Rivera-Morales both cleared 7-2.5 (2.20m). After both of them failed to clear 7-5.75 (2.28m), Ross won the competition in a jump-off. In the men's long jump, Ross had a personal-best mark of 24-10 (7.57m) and earned a second-place finish. Ross also competed in the triple jump, he had a personal-best mark of 51-3.75 (15.64m) and earned a third-place finish. Freshman Jovon Cunningham had a mark of 51-6.25 (15.70m) in the triple jump, good for second place.

"This is the most consistent I've been at 6-4 (or better)," Barrett said. "It shows that I'm a lot stronger and a lot more confident as a jumper this year. It also shows that I'm really prepared to jump a lot higher. So as we step into championship season, I know that all the weight training I've been doing all year and all the sleep I might have lost, it'll be worth it in the end. So I'm really excited about where I am right now."

In the women's 4x400-meter relay, Arizona's quartet of sophomore Shapri Romero, senior Echos Blevins, sophomore Tamara Pridgett and Moline. UA won with a season-best time of 3:33.17. On the men's side, the quartet of Leake, junior Chris McSwain, junior James Eichberger and sophomore Sean Delfani took second with a season-best time of 3:11.44. The quartet of freshman Thomas Moronta, McSwain, freshman Garic Wharton and Delfani won the men's 4x100-meter relay. They clocked a season-best time of 40.11. The women's 4x100-meter relay team consisted of Pridgett, sophomore Germe Poston, junior Shale' Garland and senior Dahlys Marshall. Their time of 45.65 was good for second place.

Senior Taylor Bush won the women's hammer throw with a toss of 204-8 (62.39m). Junior Taylor Freeman earned a third-place finish, throwing 186-10 (56.95m) which is the second-best mark of her career. In the men's hammer throw, junior Tyler Johnson came in second with a throw of 204-8 (62.39m). Freeman took second in the women's discus with a throw of 169-0 (51.52m). Junior Alyssa Hasslen competed in discus as well, she took third with a throw of 166-8 (50.81m). Hasslen won the women's shot put with a toss of 59-3 (18.06m), the second-best mark of her career. Freeman took third in the shot put, throwing 47-11.75 (14.62m). For the men's discus, sophomore Bozidar Antunovic took third with a throw of 155-2 (47.31m). In the men's shot put, Antunovic took second with a personal-best toss of 62-5.25 (19.03m).

Senior Stephen Sambu won the men's 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:49.23. That is the second-best time of his career. Sambu won the men's 3k with a time of 18:13.69. Sophomore Elvin Kibet won the women's 3K with a time of 9:45.35. Junior Elizabeth Apgar won the women's 1,500-meter race with a time of 4:29.75. Kibet clocked a time of 4:33.43, good for third place. In the men's 800 meters, junior James Eichberger displayed a great kick and won with a time 1:49.62. On the women's side, junior Melanie McGrath took second, clocking a time of 2:12.34, the second-best time of her career.

Poston had a huge personal best in the women's 100-meter dash. She won the race with a time of 11.54, which is tied for the No. 3 time in the Pac-12. Pridgett also clocked a personal-best time, running the 100m meters in 11.78, good for fourth place. In the men's 100-meter dash, Wharton clocked a personal-best time of 10.50, good for third place. In the men's 200 meters, McSwain earned a second-place finish with a season-best time of 21.05. Wharton had a personal-best time of 21.31, good for fourth.

In the women's 400 meters, Blevins won with a time of 53.63, the second-best time of her career. Romero took third, clocking a time of 54.49. In the women's 200, Blevins had a time of 24.19, also the second-best of her career.

"I thought from a performance standpoint, we did a great job," head coach Fred Harvey said. "We had some great high jumping again and Georganne Moline came back and duplicated what she did at the Mt. SAC Relays, so we're really pleased about that. We have a lot of work to do in terms of our mental preparation as we go forward into the Pac-12 (Championships). Cliff (Leake) finally had a nice breakthrough in the hurdles; Germe Poston dropped a really nice personal best in the 100-meter dash. It is never a good day to not have more points than the Sun Devils and that's just the way that works out. But, we need to make sure we have more points than them at the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships."

The Wildcats will return to the track for the inaugural Pac-12 Track and Field Championships on May 5-6 for the combined events and May 12-13 for the track and field portion. The University of Oregon will be hosting the championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
