Play Suspended at the Arizona Intercollegiate

Jan. 28, 2013

Round One Results

TUCSON, Ariz. – The second round of the Arizona Intercollegiate was suspended due to darkness Monday at Vistoso Golf Club.

Most of the 15 teams that are competing in the tournament have between three to five holes remaining to complete the second round, which will resume with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MST. The final round will begin immediately after the second round is completed.

Thirty-six holes were initially scheduled to be completed Monday, but play was suspended due to darkness around 5:45 p.m. MST.

When play was suspended, the Sun Devils of Arizona State and the Horned Frogs of TCU lead the field with a total at four-under par. California (-2), New Mexico (E) and the host school Arizona (+2) rounded our the top five spots. California's Joel Stalter holds the individual lead at eight-under par.

“I told our team that we were going to be the most prepared and professional team all week,” said head coach Jim Anderson. “We were lead by Trent Redfern, and I was so proud of how he finished the first round. He has been a rock for us all year.”

The 54-hole Arizona Intercollegiate will conclude tomorrow at Vistoso Golf Club, a par 71, 6,932-yard layout. For live tournament results, go to www.golfstat.com.
