Cats In Ninth in Tempe

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona men's golf team competed in the first round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. at Karsten Country Club today. The Wildcats shot a score of 290 (+6) for the day. The Wildcats currently sit in a tie for ninth.
The New Mexico Lobos came out hot to start the tournament by posting a first round score of 276 (-8), five shots ahead of the second place team San Diego State. The Lobos were led by Victor Perez who shot a first round sore of 66 (-5), good for a tie for second place. Oregon State's Nick Chianello sits atop the leader board after the first round by firing a first round score of 64 (-7).
Individually for the Wildcats, Alex McMahon were the high points for the day. Junior Alex McMahon carded a first round score of 70 (-1), and sits in a tie for 12th place.
Trent Redfern finished the first round with a score of 74 (+4) and is in a tie for 51st. Freshman Dylan Healey shot a 77 (+3) for the first round, and Juan Pablo Hernandez sits in a tie for 16th place with an even par score of 71.
