LOS ANGELES--- Junior Naoki Takeda and freshmen Shoki Kasahara competed in what was the third and final day of the Jack Kramer Club Invitational on Sunday, marking the end of Arizona's fall campaign.
Takeda concluded his fall on a high note, as he scored a dramatic come-from-behind 5-7, 6-4, 11-9 victory over Stanford's Nolan Paige to improve to 8-3 in singles action on the year.
Kasahara battled, but couldn't quite get by Stanford's David Wilczynski, falling 7-6, 6-1 in consolation singles play.
"The guys competed against a high level of competition this weekend and we are definitely at that level," said head coach Tad Berkowitz. "We will continue to work and improve during the offseason, and be ready to go come January."
Arizona will begin dual match spring action on Jan. 16 when it hosts UC Irvine in the opening match of the 2015 ITA Kickoff Weekend event.
