TUCSON – Day three of the Wildcat Diving Invitational went much like days one two, with Arizona securing victories in both the men's and women's events.
On Sunday, Arizona's Sally Hackett and Dominic Ricotta each won their respective platform events.
Ricotta got the best of UNLV's Lucas James, as just two divers competed in the men's event. Ricotta scored 327.90 in the platform, earning a 100-point victory in the event over James, who scored 227.30.
On the women's side, Arizona had three divers in the top five of the platform, with Hackett finishing first, Izzy Diamond third and Karolyn Loftus finishing fifth in the 30-person event.
Hackett finished with a score of 235.60 to earn the victory over Boise State's Jordan Marthens, who scored 226.60 in the event. Diamond scored 217.35 to finish third. Lauren Reifel of New Mexico State (217.00) came in fourth while Loftus and UC Davis' Lucy Lafranchise tied for fifth with a score of 216.70.
Kailtin Costello, the final Wildcat diver to compete, finished 17th with a score of 166.80.
The Wildcats won all six events in the Wildcat Diving Invite. In addition to sweeping today's platform podium, Arizona earned both 3M victories (Ricotta and Samantha Pickens) and 1M victories (Rafael Quintero and Pickens) on days one and two of the Wildcat Diving Invite.
Arizona swimming and diving is back in action Dec. 4-6 when it heads to the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.
