
Wildcats End Day Two of NCI

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona men's golf team concluded day two of the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational (NCI) on Monday. The competition switched over to the Pumpkin Ridge-Witch Hallow course, which has a par of 72. The Wildcats shot a 293 (+5) in the second round to boost their score to 587 (+15). Leading the Wildcats on the new course was sophomore Jake Kreuz. Kruez currently sits in a tiefor 52nd place. He shot a 74 on Monday after an opening-round 72 on Sunday. He's currently 3-over, with a total score of 146.
In his first tournament of the season, sophomore George Cunningham shot a 72 (E) in the second round off four birdies. Cunningham's score stands at 75(+4)-72(+E)=147 (+4) to give him a share of 58th place. Also tied at 58th is fellow sophomore Jordan Gumberg. Gumberg tallied a 75 (+3) in the second round to make his score 72(+1)-75(+3)= 147 (+4).
Freshman Ari Gulugian currently stands tied for 60th place. Gulugian notched a 73 (+1) in the second round to put him at 75(+4)-73(+1)= 148 (+5). Redshirt freshman Andrew Garner marked a 74 (+2) in the second round of play. Garner stands tied for 68th with a total score of 77(+6)-74(+2)=151 (+8).
Keep an eye on the Arizona Wildcats on Sunday, as they tee off at 9:00 a.m. (MST) in the final round of play.
