TUCSON, Ariz.--- With the 2016 campaign looming in the near future, the Arizona baseball team is set to begin official preparation for the new season, as first-year head coach Jay Johnson released the program's 2015 fall intrasquad scrimmage slate on Thursday.
The Wildcats will officially open fall practice this Friday at 5 pm PT out at the auxiliary fields behind Hi Corbett Field. There will be a brief 30 minute window for media availability beginning at 4:15 pm PT out at Hi Corbett Field prior to practice.
The fall intrasquad slate will begin next Friday, Oct. 16 and will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 22. Arizona will compete in 19 instraquad fall scrimmages, more than likely ranging from seven to 10 innings in length.
The fall campaign will conclude with the first annual “Wild vs. Cats World Series”. The event will consist of a best-of-three series spanning from Nov. 19-22 to decide the winner. There will be a draft prior to the event to determine the two squads. More details will be provided as the date draws closer.
