Cats in Fourth Place at Hawaii Pac-12 Preview

TUCSON, Ariz.—The Arizona women's golf team is in fourth place at the Hawaii Pac-12 Preview in Kona, Hawaii. The Cats shot a combined score of 598 after 36 holes on Monday. They are 5 strokes behind leader Arizona State who shot a combined score of 593.
Junior Jessica Vasilic had an excellent overall performance on Monday over the course of the two rounds. She shot a 71 in the first round and a 76 in the second round for a combined score of 147 (+1). She is currently tied for sixth place with UCLA's Louise Ridderstrom and Arizona State's Linnea Strom.
Freshman Gigi Stoll had a strong day and sits tied for ninth place with three other competitors, which include California's Hannah Suh and Lucia Gutierrez and Oregon State's Ashlee Pickerell. Stoll shot a 73 in the first and 75 in second for a combined score of 148 (+2). Sophomore Krystal Quihuis is tied for 17th place shooting a 71 in the first and a 79 in the second for a combined score of 150(+4). She is tied with Hawaii's Isabella Leung, Colorado's Brittany Fan and California's Marianne Li.
Junior Wanasa Zhou is tied for 26th place after shooting a 75 and a 79 for a combined score of 153 (+5). She is tied with Washington State's Cherokee Kim, Washington's Ying Luo, Arizona State's Roberta Liti and Colorado's Natalie Vivaldi. First time traveler freshman Danielle Lee in tied for 48th place with Oregon's Kathleen Scavo and Washington's Julianne Alvarez. She shot 82 in the first 18 holes and 80 in the second 18 holes for a combined score of 162 (+16). Lastly, Natalia Forero who traveled as an individual with the Arizona squad, is tied for the 45th place with Oregon's Petra Salko. She shot a pair of 80's for the first and second round for a combined score of 160 (+14).
The Cats started strong Monday on the first 18 holes. As a unit they shot a combined score of 290. Vasilic, Stoll, and Quihuis shot at or under par while Zhou was just two strokes over and Lee was 9-over. Arizona will look to stay on that track as it concludes the tournament with the last 18 holes on Tuesday.
Tee off time for the Cats will be at 7:30 a.m.
