
Cats Finish Third in Hawaii Pac-12 Preview

TUCSON, Ariz.—The Arizona women's golf team finished third in the Hawaii Pac-12 Preview held at the Nanea Golf Club on Tuesday. The Cats finished with a combined score of 290 for the third round, which put them at 888 for the tournament. The Cats finished 11 strokes behind the champion UCLA who had a combined score of 877 for the tournament and 4 strokes behind runner-up Arizona State who finished with a combined score of 884.
Junior Jessica Vasilic earned her second top-five finish, tying for fourth place with UCLA's Bronte Law, Washington State's Alivia Brown, and California's Marianne Li. She finished with a combined score of 219, even for the tournament. She shot a 72 (-1) in the third round. She shot even with par until the No. 12 hole in which she shot a birdie and that took her 1-under par for the remainder of the final six holes.
Freshman Gigi Stoll finished in 18th place with a combined score of 224 (+5) recording her second top-20 finish of the fall season. She shot a 76 (+3) in the final round of the tournament hitting two birdies on No. 5 and No. 11.
Junior Wanasa Zhou logged her third top-20 finish of the 2015-16 season finishing tied for 19th place with Colorado's Alexis Keating and Arizona sophomore Krystal Quhuis. Zhou shot a 72 (-1) in the third round, which gave her a combined score of 225 (+6) for the tournament. Quihuis also finished with a combined score of 225 (+6) shooting a 75 (+2) in the final round logging her second top-20 finish of the season.
Freshman Danielle Lee finished tied for 39th place with the final round being her best round. Lee shot 71 (-2) to conclude the tournament which gave her a combined score of 233 (+14). She tied with Oregon State's Haley Nist and Washington State's Nani Yanagi. Sophomore Natalia Forero also shot her best round of the tournament in the final round. She shot 79 (+6) in round three which put her at 239 (+20) for the tournament.
Overall, the Cats stayed solid and were able to finish in the top-10 earning their fourth top-10 finish to conclude the 2015-16 fall season. Arizona women's golf will start back up in the spring the first week of February when they head to Palos Verdes, CA for the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge.
