Penina Snuka Named Honorable Mention All-America

TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior setter Penina Snuka has been named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American for the second straight season, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
Snuka helped Arizona to a 19-14 campaign that included a berth into the program's third straight NCAA Tournament in 2015.
With her second consecutive honorable mention All-America citation, Snuka becomes Arizona's fourth player in school history to earn multiple All-America honors, joining Dana Burkholder (2000, 2001), Kim Glass (2002, 2003, 2005) and Madi Kingdon (2013, 2014).
Snuka, an all-Pac-12 performer, is the conference leader in total assists with 1,349 and second in assists per set with 10.88. She is second on the team averaging 3.36 digs per set. Snuka leads the conference in double-doubles with 22, including 11 of Arizona's final 12 matches. The junior is fifth in Arizona history with 3,779 career assists and fourth in career digs with 1,209, the most of any setter in Arizona history.
Snuka was one of 15 Pac-12 players to be recognized by the AVCA, including two first-team selections (Samantha Bricio, USC; Lianna Sybeldon, Washington). Additionally, Stanford's Hayley Hodson was named the National Freshman of the Year.
