TUCSON, Ariz.--- University of Arizona junior pitcher/third baseman Bobby Dalbec was named to the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Second Team, as the squads were released on Tuesday.
Dalbec was awarded spots on the 2015 Pac-12 All-Conference Team, All-Defensive Team, and ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region First Team last season after blasting a Pac-12 leading 15 home runs to go along with a .319 batting average, .601 slugging percentage, .410 on base percentage, 43 runs scored, and a team-high 53 RBI.
The Parker, Colo. native is primed for a breakout junior season, as he was named to Team USA and the Cape Cod League's Summer Prospect List by Baseball America, after putting together a spectacular 2015 summer campaign. He led Team USA to 10 wins, while he also blasted a Cape Cod League-leading 12 home runs to go along with 30 RBI and a .315 batting average in 27 games as a member of the Orleans Firebirds. He ranked second in the league in RBI and would have ranked eighth in average if he had enough at bats to qualify.
UA opens the 2016 season on Feb. 19 at Rice at 5 pm MST, while Arizona's home opener will come against Cal State Fullerton on March 2 out at Hi Corbett Field.
