TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona football program announced Tuesday a pair of future scheduled home-and-home series with Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska.
“We are excited to announce these future games against two outstanding programs,” athletic director Greg Byrne said. “While these games are a ways off, it is important for us to schedule competitive games that will be exciting for fans and recruits alike as we continue to strengthen all aspects of our football program.”
The series with Kansas State will begin Sept. 24, 2024, in Manhattan, Kan., with a return trip in Tucson for Sept. 13, 2025, at Arizona Stadium. Arizona owns a 5-1-1 mark all-time against its rival Wildcats, though the schools have not played since 1978 when UA rolled to a 31-0 season-opening victory.
A two-game series with Nebraska begins in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 16, 2028, with the return game at Arizona Stadium slated for Sept. 13, 2031. The Wildcats and Huskers are split 1-1-1 in three all-time meetings, with each team boasting a Holiday Bowl victory (UA in 1998 and NU in 2009). The only regular season meeting between the schools was in 1961, when the Wildcats traveled to Lincoln, Neb., and earned a 14-14 tie en route to an 8-1-1 campaign that stands as one of the best in program history.
