Cats Close Home Stand With Northern Colorado

Arizona Welcomes the UNC Bears for UA's third home game in six days.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Amidst a week of four games to be played, the Arizona Wildcats close out a three-game home stand by welcoming the Northern Colorado Bears to McKale Center. Monday night's game is the second of UA's non-bracketed home games as part of the 2016 Continental Tires Las Vegas Invitational this week. The visiting Bears are part of the event's field.

  • Arizona moved to 3-0 on the season with a convincing 95-65 win over Sacred Heart on Friday night in McKale Center. The Wildcats had six players score in double figures in the game that saw UA never trail in. Arizona's attacking the inside on offense yielded 32 of 53 (.603) shooting from inside the arc and an efficient 22 of 26 (.846) performance at the free throw line.
  • Dusan Ristic posted a career night in his team's win over SHU. The junior center finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals while shooting 60.0 percent from the field. The 15 rebounds were a new career high, eclipsing his 11 rebounds over Pacific in the 2015-16 season opener. Friday night's performance was also the first double-double of his college career.
  • Friday's victory over the Pioneers improved Arizona's record to 39-6 (.867) in games in the month of November under head coach Sean Miller. It is the highest winning percentage of any month during the Miller era (2009 to present).
  • Lauri Markkanen became the first Wildcat freshman to score 20 or more points in two of his first three NCAA games since Jerryd Bayless in the first three games of the 2007-08 season.
  • Sophomore center Chance Comanche continues to up his play during the start of the 2016-17 season. The 7-footer has scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds through his first three appearances, good for an average of 8.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Comanche scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in his final 12 games last season.
  • As of Sunday morning, Arizona's non-conference opponents had gotten off to a strong start in their respective schedules. All possible Wildcat non-conference opponents have a combined record of 27-18 (.600).
  • Freshman Lauri Markkanen enters the week as the only player in the Pac-12 Conference to rank in the top ten in points per game (5th – 20.3 ppg), field goal percentage (10th - .594 FG%), three-point field goal percentage (10th - .455 3FG%) and free throw percentage (4th - .947 FT%).
