Box Score TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State defeated Arizona in five sets in the regular season finale (19-25, 24-26, 25-22, 18-25, 20-18).

Kendra Dahlke had 21 kills and Penina Snuka put up a double-double with 52 assists and 16 digs, but it would not be enough as the Sun Devils outlasted Arizona a five-set nailbiter.

After Arizona led the match 2-1 after three sets, ASU won convincingly in the fourth, 25-18, before winning a marathon of a fifth, 20-18. 

Arizona finished the regular season 18-14, 10-10 Pac-12 and will find out its NCAA Tournament fate on Sunday when the NCAA Tournament bracket is announced at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

Both offenses dominated in the first set, but Arizona's was just a bit better, hitting .444 on its way to a 25-19 victory. Kalei Mau led the way with five kills on nine swings.

Arizona State responded out of the gate in the second, grabbing an early four-point lead. UA chipped away and eventually took the lead before ASU retied the second set at 21. The Sun Devils edged Arizona 26-24 in the frame.

It was ASU opening the third set hot once again, but a 7-1 run turned an 11-8 ASU lead to a 15-12 Wildcat advantage. UA never looked back from there, defeating the Sun Devils 25-22 to take a 2-1 lead.

Arizona State held Arizona to an .098 hitting percentage in the fourth and the Sun Devils won the fourth 25-18.

The Sun Devils went on to win the fifth set, 20-18.
