
Arizona Selected for Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament

TUCSON - Following an 18-14 regular season, the Arizona volleyball team has earned its fourth consecutive at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona will open the tournament on Friday against first-round opponent Cleveland State at 3 p.m. MST in East Lansing, Michigan. National No. 9 seed Michigan State will host first and second round action. The Spartans will face Fairfield in the first round with the winners set to meet on Saturday.
This marks Arizona's 28th trip to the NCAA Tournament and the 19th time head coach Dave Rubio has led the Wildcats to the postseason. It is the seventh trip in the last eight years to the dance for Rubio and the Wildcats. Arizona has been to seven Sweet 16s, four Elite 8s and advanced to the Final Four in 2001.
Arizona's two four-year seniors Penina Snuka and Laura Larson become the first senior class to make four NCAA Tournament appearances since 2005. The 2016 senior class won its 81st match this week, making it the winningest senior class since the 2003 seniors.
Arizona finished the season 18-14 overall and its 10-10 conference record put the Cats seventh in the Pac-12.
