Wildcats Wrap-Up Northrop Grumman Reg. Challenge

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's golf team concluded the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, California, today. The Wildcats finished in tenth place with a score of 903 (+51). Junior Wanasa Zhou paced the team with a three-day score of 223 (+10). She closed with a 78 (+7) after rounds of 70 and 75 for a share of 28th place.
Freshman Haley Moore finished the tournament with a 77 (+6) after rounds of 76 and 74 for a composite score of 227. She finished tied for 38th. Junior Jessica Vasilic jumped 18 spots Tuesday, besting her first round by eight strokes with a 72 (+1). Her first and second rounds were an 80 and a 77, respectively. She finished tied for 41st place. Just behind her was sophomore Krystal Quihuis in 45th place, who carded a 76 (+5) Tuesday after rounds of a 78 and a 76. Senior Lindsey Weaver earned a 77 (+7) in the last round, and finished the tournament with a portion of 51st place after her initial rounds at 77 and 75.
Washington managed to slip by Alabama for the tournament team title, while Monica Vaughn of Arizona State shot four under for the individual title. The field for this competition remained tough and the course proved to be resilient; the Wildcats look to charge back in their next showing.
