TUCSON, Ariz., -- Alejandro Reguant has just signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at the University of Arizona beginning with the 2016-17 academic year, the men's tennis team announced on Monday.

The Barcelona, Spain native has been ranked as high as No. 7 in Spain for players born in 1998 and No. 130 in all ages. Reguant was a champion in doubles of a grade two in Spain and was the champion of the MARCA Tournament in Barcelona.

“I chose the University of Arizona because of the amazing facilities they have, the coaches and academic advisors, and because of the good weather and environment,” said Reguant. “In fact, I chose Arizona because I loved everything I saw.”
