
Austin and Marker Set For NCAA Competition

Tulsa, Okla.- Senior Shayne Austin and junior Lauren Marker will represent Arizona in NCAA Doubles Competition starting Thursday, May 26, the NCAA anounced on Tuesday. The Arizona duo will be competing just a day removed from Marker's tough, three set loss in the singles round of 64.
The 24th-ranked duo of Marker and Austin currently have a 15-5 doubles record on court one and will face the University of Virginia's 18th-ranked tandem of Danielle Collins and Meghan Kelley, who are 15-9 in dual play. The start time for Thursday's match will be posted on Wednesday.
Junior Lauren Marker fell to Alabama junior Erin Routliffe in a tough three-set affair on Wednesday, May 25 (6-3, 2-6, 6-2). No. 54 Marker went up early in the first set, but was unable to maintain her early lead, falling 6-3. No. 23 Routliffe won the first game of the second set, but Marker quickly retook the momentum, winning set two 6-2. Marker and Routliffe went back and forth in set three, but Marker eventually lost 6-2 after losing some crucial points.
