Tucson, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats women's soccer team defeated the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks by a score of 1-0 on Friday evening at Mulcahy Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
"We wanted to make sure we won the game and saw where some players were," said head coach
Tony Amato. "I think we got that out of tonight. There were some good things all around, and I felt that there was good play overall."
Arizona's focus on defending as a unit allowed the team to blank Northern Arizona and in turn earn goalkeeper
Lainey Burdett a shutout.
The home field advantage made the game an exciting place to be, as over 700 fans came out to enjoy the exhibition game. The program's fans continue to
Experience It in support of their team.
The Wildcat's continue their 2016 season next week against Pepperdine in Malibu, California. That match will mark the beginning of Arizona's regular season games.
