The University of Arizona women's golf team finished the ANNIKA Intercollegiate
on Tuesday, at the Reunion Resort Watson Course in Orlando, Fla. The Wildcats had a difficult third round finishing at 8-over-par to put them in 12
th place with a total score of 872.
Sophomore
Haley Moore continued her stellar play and earned yet another top-5 finish. Moore finished the tournament very strong with a final round score of 67 .She ended the tournament tied for third place at 9-under-par.
"Haley is showing her potential to be the future Annika Award Winner and first team All-America," said coach
Laura Ianello. "Her game is sharp and is a strong leader for our team."
Moore has now finished in the top-5 in her last three tournaments dating back to last year. Moore tied for third at the Dick McGuire Invitational to begin the season, as well as tying for second at the NCAA Championships to end the 2015-16 season.
Junior
Krystal Quihuis carded a 4-over-par round of 76; Quihuis finished the tournament in a tie for 34
th place. Junior
Natalia Forero carded a 78 to finish tied for 55
th place. Sophomore
Danielle Lee finished tied for 43
rd place after today's 5-over-par round of 77. Sophomore
Gigi Stoll finished the tournament with a round of 82.
The team competition was won by USC finishing at 24-under-par, Southern California won the tournament last year as well. Maria Fassi of Arkansas won the individual title at 11-under-par.
The Wildcats play again next week at the Windy City Collegiate Classic starting
on Monday.
