PALO ALTO, Calif. – No. 10 Stanford (15-3, 6-1 Pac-12) outscored Arizona (11-7, 2-5 Pac-12) by 22 points in the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated the Wildcats by a score of 73-46 on Friday night in Maples Pavilion.

LaBrittney Jones hit double-figures for the 14th time this season as she scored 11 points tonight. She has scored double-figures in five straight contests and has averaged 17 points per game in that span.

Malena Washington also chipped in 10 points and has scored double-figures in 11 straight games for the Wildcats.

The Cardinal shot 49% from the field on the night and forced Arizona to 32% shooting. Stanford also dominated the boards as they won the rebounding battle 44-27. After getting outscored by 22 points in the first quarter, Arizona played the 10th-ranked Cardinal pretty evenly as Stanford outscored the Wildcats by just five points.

Stanford came out of the gate hot as they got out to a 28-6 first quarter lead on 80% shooting. The second quarter was dead even as the Wildcats and the Cardinal each scored 17 points to make the count 45-23 Stanford at the end of the first half. Washington hit a buzzer-beating three at the end of the second quarter.

The Cardinal kept rolling in the third quarter as they would take a 63-36 lead into the fourth quarter after winning the period 18-13. The two teams each scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to end the game. Â
Arizona will turn around and face the California Golden Bears in Berkeley on Sunday at 2 p.m. MST on the Pac-12 Networks.
