TUCSON, Ariz. – United Soccer Coaches, an organization that serves all levels of soccer in the U.S., announced that Arizona's Gabi Stoian was voted to the All-West Region third team on Wednesday evening. This is the third time Stoian has earned All-West Region (formerly All-Pacific Region) honors, having been placed on the first and third teams in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
Despite a minor injury midway through the season, Stoian posted four goals and two assists this season for the number two spot on the Wildcats stat sheet. These numbers propelled Stoian to finish her career with the second-most goals (29), assists (22), and points (80) in program history. Additionally, she is the all-time leader in shots and holds the number five spot for the most game-winning goals.
Additionally this season, Stoian finished sixth in shots-per-game in the Pac-12 and was named to the all-conference third team, her third all-conference honor as a Wildcat. The team's trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament made Stoian and her fellow seniors the first group in program history to make three NCAA Tournament appearances during their careers.
