Arizona to Host NCAA First Round Match

TUCSON, Ariz. – The NCAA announced on Monday afternoon that the University of Arizona women's soccer team will host a first round matchup in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats will host TCU this Friday, November 10 at 7 p.m. MT at Mulcahy Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
This is the second time in Arizona history that the program has been selected to host an NCAA Tournament match. It is also the third time in four years that the Cats have been chosen to host under head coach Tony Amato.
"I'm excited for the team because this is what we've been working towards all year," said Amato. "I'm particularly excited for our seniors who have done this for the third time. We'll stick to what we've done all year. [The team] knows it's a big game but as long as we have a good game plan and a good week of practice we'll be able to handle it."
Arizona boasts a 10-4-4 (7-2-2 Pac-12) record after the completion of the regular season. This was enough for a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12. Arizona posted a 2-2 tie versus No. 2 seeded UCLA and a 1-0 win over California as the hallmarks of their season. The Wildcats are undefeated in their last seven matches, the second longest streak in Arizona history.
The last NCAA trip for the Wildcats saw them host the University of Northern Colorado who they beat 2-0 and then travel to Palo Alto to play Santa Clara (W, 2-1) but they were knocked out of the tournament against Stanford in a 3-0 match to end their championship bid.
Tickets will be available to the public Monday evening and fans may start purchasing tickets online by clicking HERE or in person at the McKale ticket office starting Tuesday morning during normal business hours (M-F, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. MT). Season ticket holders will have priority in claiming tickets and will have until 5 p.m. MT on Tuesday, Nov. 7 to accept their tickets that will already be loaded into their account.
