Burdett, McGarry & Stoian Named All-Pac-12

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Pac-12 Conference announced on Tuesday that three players from the University of Arizona women's soccer team were named to All-Conference teams. Lainey Burdett and Morgan McGarry were named to the Second Team and Gabi Stoian was named to the Third Team.
Burdett has had a standout season as she has played every minute of the Wildcats' 18 matches so far this year. She's allowed only fourteen goals for a goals-against-average of 0.73 and a save percentage of 84.6% (31st in the NCAA). Her 4.27 saves per game are third-best in the Pac-12 and her seven shutouts are tied for sixth-best in the Pac-12. The junior still has one more year to become Arizona's all-time leader in goals-against-average and solo shutouts.
Redshirt sophomore McGarry transitioned from a midfielder to a defender this season when head coach Tony Amato asked her to make the switch over the summer. She's been a part of a defense that has lost only one match when they've gotten on the board this season. Her and the rest of the back line have allowed only 91 shots-on-goal (5.06 per game).
Stoian has been a trademark for the Wildcats ever since she joined the team. She's in the top spot on the stat sheet again this season with four goals and two assists. Stoian is in the number two spot for all-time goals (29), assists (22), and points (80). She needs only four more goals, three more assists, and four more points to claim the all-time record in each category.
The Wildcats are set to host the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. MT against TCU.
