The Cats Begin Play at the SDSU March Mayhem

The University of Arizona women's golf team completed the first day of action at the SDSU March Mayhem in San Diego, Calif. on Monday. Playing in a match play format the Wildcats defeated New Mexico 3-2 in the first round. The Cats lost to BYU in the quarterfinal matchup.
In the first match of the day sophomore Gigi Stoll won her match 3&2, senior Wanasa Zhou defeated her opponent 4&3 and sophomore Haley Moore won 5&3. Freshman Sandra Nordaas and junior Krystal Quihuis both lost 3&2.
In the second matchup of the day against BYU, Zhou won her match 3&2. Stoll and Nordaas both lost 5&4, and Moore lost her match 4&3. Junior Krystal Quihuis did not finish her match due to darkness however BYU already clinched the team match victory.
Arizona will take on the Wildcats of Northwestern on Tuesday in a Round 3 consolation bracket matchup. A few Round 2 matches still have not been completed, so those matches will need to finish before the start of Round 3 play.
