TUCSON, AZ – Arizona Gymnastics prepares to travel to BYU this upcoming Friday.
Coming Up:
This week the GymCats will hit the road to compete in Provo, Utah against Brigham Young University. The competition will be at 7 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and televised by BYU TV. Arizona hopes to defeat their previous season high of 196.275 that was earned against UCLA on February 25
th.
Last Week:
Last week the GymCats lost to Arizona State University with a score of 195.375 to 195.700. Despite the loss there were multiple gymnasts who shined in the competition. Junior
Victoria Ortiz earned a 9.925 on the uneven bars, making this her fifth consecutive week earning a 9.900 or higher. Senior
Krysten Howard also excelled in all three of her events, earning a 9.875 on bars, 9.825 on beam, and a new season and career high of 9.925 on floor.

GymCat Strong:
The GymCats pride themselves on being leaders in the gym, the classroom, and the community. This season sophomore
Lauryn Mattson earned her captain title for the first time because of her positive attitude she brings in the gym and her consistency on vault and floor. Lauryn has earned a 9.725 or higher on every vault this season and has earned consistent 9.825's on floor. In the classroom Lauryn perseveres with her extreme dedication to her pre-business major, having earned a cumulative 3.7 GPA during her collegiate experience. Lastly, Lauryn is a leader in the Tucson community by being a key component to helping the GymCats earn the Director's Cup for community service for the past 11 years.
