Cats in Third After Day One of the PING ASU Invitational

The University of Arizona women's golf team completed the first round of play at the PING ASU Invitational. Arizona is tied for third after shooting a one-under-par round of 287.
"The Wildcats played good today," said coach Laura Ianello. "We finished at one-under total for the round. We were lead by Krystal Quihuis and Haley Moore. Jessica Vasilic fought really hard on the back nine to finish at two-over. Wanasa injured herself a little this morning, but she battled hard throughout the day. Baylor and Arizona State are both really good teams. I know our team can go extremely low on this golf course, and that is our plan."
Junior Krystal Quihuis is tied for sixth after shooting a two-under-par round of 70. Sophomore Haley Moore is currently tied for 10th after posting a 71 on the day. Sophomore Gigi Stoll shot even par in her first round and is tied for 18th place. Senior Jessica Vasilic shot a two-over round of 74, which puts her in a tie for 36th. Senior Wanasa Zhou finished the first round shooting a 77.
Junior Natalia Forero competing as an individual shot three-over and is tied for 42nd. Freshman Sandra Nordaas also competing as an individual posted a 78 in her first round.
Arizona State and Baylor are tied for the lead at 10-under-par. Monica Vaughn of ASU shot a 64 and is the individual leader at -8.
Arizona will tee off Saturday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m. MST.
