Wildcats Climb Leaderboard in Round Two of the PING ASU Invitational

The University of Arizona women's golf team completed the second round of play on Saturday at the PING ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. The Wildcats had a strong round finishing at six-under-par on the day and seven-under for the tournament.
"The team did really well today," said coach Laura Ianello. "Wanasa Zhou had to withdraw with tendonitis in her left wrist, so we were one person down. The ladies rallied, and we had had great rounds lead by Krystal Quihuis and Haley Moore. Jessica Vasilic and Gigi Stoll both played really solid as well. We are so proud of the team, they fought really hard to come back and be in contention for tomorrow. They knew every shot counted today and they are hanging tough."
Junior Krystal Quihuis had a very strong round of 68, which puts her at six-under for the tournament and in a tie for second place. Sophomore Haley Moore finished the day in fifth place after carding a 69. Sophomore Gigi Stoll is tied for 15th after posting a round of 73. Senior Jessica Vasilic shot an even par round of 72 and is in a tie for 21st place.
Junior Natalia Forero, competing as an individual posted a round of 74 and is tied for 39th place. Freshman Sandra Nordaas, competing as an individual is tied for 54th after shooting a one-over-par round of 73.
Host Arizona State leads the tournament by three strokes heading into the final round of play. Monica Vaughn of Arizona State leads the individual competition by two shots and is currently at eight-under-par.
Arizona will tee off beginning at 9 a.m. MST on Sunday morning.
