TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's soccer team defeated the BYU Cougars 2-1 on Friday evening in Tucson, Ariz. Charlotte Brascia opened the scoring for the Wildcats off a deflected corner. Amanda Porter got her first collegiate goal in the 92nd minute to give the Cats the win.
"BYU caused us a lot of problems on attack," said Amato. "They are a good team. We didn't really take advantage of some of those opportunities to counter. The team did a really good job of powering through, after giving up a goal and then finding a win in ET – a lot of credit to our team."
Arizona is back in action on Saturday, Sep. 23 in Tucson, when the Wildcats will take on Oregon at 7 p.m. MST.
