Arizona Adds Yu-Sang Hou for Spring 2018

The University of Arizona women's golf team signed Yu-Sang Hou for the spring of 2018. Hou is from Taipei, Taiwan and is currently the 89th ranked amateur in the world according to Women's World Amateur Ranking.
"Yu Sang who also calls herself 'Jessica' is an outstanding junior player joining the collegiate ranks," said Coach Laura Ianello. "I'm very excited to announce her commitment to our team this spring of 2018. Jessica is a kind, hardworking and determined young lady who aspires to play at the highest level. We have been scouting Jessica for the past 18 months and we have continued to be impressed by her accomplishments. She has competed in amateur and professional events regularly to test her game at every level. One of the most impressive things about Jessica is her demeanor on the golf course, she is enjoyable to watch and has the ability to scramble and post a good score. Jessica will add depth to our roster with players such as Bianca Pagdanganan, Krystal Quihuis, Gigi Stoll and Haley Moore. We look forward to rebuilding our championship legacy."
Hou's most recent victory was at the Hong Kong Ladies Amateur Open winning by three strokes. She won the 2017 TLPGA Royal Open at the Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club. In July, earned a trip to the Round of 16 at the US Girls Junior at Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Mo. Earned a silver medal at the 2017 Summer University Games in Taipei, Taiwan. At the age of 17 qualified for the U.S. Women's Open at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California.
Hou's father Cheng is her swing instructor and coach, and takes a great amount of pride in her development.
"We are extremely excited for Jessica to join our Wildcat family this upcoming spring," said assistant coach Derek Radley. "It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know her and her family throughout the recruiting process. She is a very steady golfer and is not scared to go low."
