CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 22 Oregon State (13-4, 4-2 Pac-12) pulled away in the second and made 16 three-pointers to take down Arizona (4-13, 0-6 Pac-12) by a score of 88-48 on Sunday afternoon in Gill Coliseum. The Beavers shot 20-28 in the second half, including 9-12 from three.

In total, Oregon State made 56% of their shots, including 59% (16-27) from downtown. Known for their defense, the Beavers forced Arizona into 28% shooting and outrebounded the Wildcats 49-22.

For the Wildcats,
Kat Wright and
Sam Thomas each led the way with 10 points apiece. Wright knocked down a pair of three-pointers and Thomas grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Oregon State got off to a good start in the first quarter with a 15-6 lead, but the Wildcats would finish off the period on a 9-0 run to make it a tie ballgame at the end of one.

Arizona continued their good play at the start of the second quarter, but the Beavers would take a 38-27 lead into halftime after scoring the final 10 points of the quarter. Wright had eight points and
Sammy Fatkin had seven points to lead the Wildcats.

The Beavers couldn't miss in the third quarter as they scored 25 points on 67% shooting with five made three-pointers. On the other end, the Wildcats really struggled from the field hitting just three of their 17 shots. Heading into the fourth quarter, Oregon State held a 63-35 lead. The Beavers continued to hit shots in the fourth quarter (10-13) and extended their lead all the way to 40 at the end of the game.
Arizona returns home for a matchup with the mountain schools next weekend starting with Colorado on Jan. 19.
