No. 17 GymCats Prepare to Host No. 4 UCLA

TUCSON, Ariz. – As Arizona gymnastics enters their third week of the 2018 season, the No. 17 GymCats are getting ready for their first Pac-12 match up as they face off against No. 4 UCLA at home on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m.
"Last week in Ames we learned that we not only have talent but that we are becoming a tougher team," said head coach John Court. "We trusted our process throughout the night and stayed on task. We are looking forward to being at home the next 2 weeks and competing in front of our fans. In addition, a big thank you to all the mom's out there and those that will be at the meet, you are the most valuable people on the planet."
"Mommy and Me" Meet:
This Saturday Arizona will host their third annual "Mommy and Me" meet to support all of the strong mothers of the world. The Cats invite all moms to come and be recognized at the meet. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free rally towel and the first 500 fans will receive a free Arizona stick banner.
Last week:
On Friday, Jan. 12 the Cats traveled to Ames, Iowa to compete against Iowa State in their first road meet of the season. Arizona lost to Iowa State with a final score of 194.975 to 195.425. Senior Kennady Schneider took home the first place title on the floor competition with a score of 9.875 and senior Madison Cindric placed third in the All-Around competition with a score of 39.025.
Coming up:
After Arizona takes on Pac-12 rivals UCLA at home on Jan. 20, they will be hosting another Pac-12 team at home, No. 2 Utah. On Friday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. the Cats will take on the Utes in McKale Center for what will surely be another great competition.
