After an exceptional performance at the Texas Invitational a month ago, the Arizona women are ready to start 2018 with a quad meet on Friday at noon at home. The women are 3-1 so far this season, and are looking to stay hot against NMSU, NAU, and Rice.

Texas Invitational Recap
Justin Wright set the school record in the 200 fly with 1:40.57, earning an NCAA A cut and runner-up. Nick Thorne won the 400 IM with 3:41.47, which is second in Arizona school history.
Hannah Cox had three top-5 performances, including second in the 500 (4:39.49) and 1,650 (16:04.28) free. The men had two NCAA A cuts and 47 NCAA B cuts, while the women earned one A cut and 43 B cuts.

Eyeing the Competition
New Mexico State University is 3-2 on the season, and has won two in a row. Northern Arizona University and Rice are both 4-2 this season.

History
NAU competed in the Texas Invitational at the beginning of December, as well. Last season, Arizona swam against NAU twice, beating them handily both times. The women also hosted NMSU last season, winning 193-104. The Wildcats have not competed against Rice in at least the past five years.

Up Next
Both the men and women travel to the Bay Area to compete in a dual meet against Stanford on January 19 and California on January 20.
