Men's Golf Announces 2018 Signing Class

TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona Men's Golf program is looking towards the future as the team signs three new Wildcats for the 2019-2020 season. Joining the program will be Aidric Chan, Hayden Sayre, and Chase Sienkiewicz from the Philippines, Arizona and California.
"We are very proud of the 2019 class and what each member has accomplished leading up to their college career," commented head coach Jim Anderson. "As a group, this class has the fire and competitiveness to be one of the best graduating classes we have recruited. Each of the player's path through junior golf was different and each has shown they can perform at the level necessary to be a successful college player. In particular, we love having the top player from three distinct recruiting regions that Chris (Nallen) and I have identified as important areas for Arizona."
Chan will make the international move from Quezon City, Philippines to Tucson with 12 top-ten finishes in junior and amateur championships, and is a member of the Philippine National team.
Sayre, a Phoenix, Ariz. native, has had a successful high school career competing throughout Phoenix, and has been named the JGAA Player of the Year in both 2016 and 2018.
Sienkiewicz joins the program from Carmichael, Calif. and is the Jesuit High School Varsity Golf team captain, and 2017 Varsity MVP.

On Becoming a Wildcat:
"I chose University of Arizona because I really felt like I'll belong well to this family and help myself and the team achieve our top goals. This would also help me become the best version of myself with the great program they offer. Being a Wildcat golfer means a lot to me because it's been my dream to play for a top Division 1 school and here I am with a great opportunity to reach for success. I am really excited to meet everyone on the team and bond with them. Through this way, I believe winning an NCAA championship is possible."

He has shown no significant weaknesses and we believe his experience will allow him to contribute right away. I think the best parts of his game are around the greens and off the tee."

I truly believe in the future of this program, and I think we really have the chance to do something special and reach our ultimate goal of bringing home a national championship to Tucson."

He has a knack for scoring which is the most important skill set you can find in golf. His iron play and driving accuracy is outstanding and he is fearless when he plays."

Wearing the Wildcat logo means the world to me because my whole life I worked to compete at the next level, and now I am able to compete at one of the top programs in the country."

Anderson on Sienkiewicz:
"Chase is a great addition from a pipeline we have established in California. I haven't seen many junior golfers demonstrate ball speed and power similar to his numbers. He is a multisport athlete who has had great coaching to get him in a position to excel as a competitive golfer. He played outstanding golf this summer and he knows he is hungry to grow, which is great to coach. His skill set will translate immediately in the college game and the experience he will pick up, combined with his intellect level, will serve him very well to help his team immediately."
