How old were you when you started gymnastics?
I was about three years old when I started gymnastics.
What is your favorite event and why?
My favorite event is bars because it is one of the more difficult events and I enjoy the challenge it brings. Bars comes easy to me and I love being able to swing and flip around.
What is fun and special about Arizona gymnastics?
Arizona Gymnastics is backed by the entire University and Tucson community. It is very special to have support from so many amazing people. Competing in McKale is also something that is so unique about Arizona. The atmosphere inside the arena is something that is unforgettable.
What is your dream job after college?
I want to become a Physician's Assistant for an orthopedic surgeon.
What motivates you?
Looking back at my career and everything I have been through is what really pushes me. I do this sport for the little girl that put her heart and soul into gymnastics for her entire life.
What advice do you have for the underclassmen?
My advice would be to enjoy every meet, whether it is at home or away. Our season goes by quickly, so really appreciate every moment you wear the Arizona leotard.
What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
I enjoy going to the pool, hanging out with friends, and exploring Tucson.
What are you looking forward to most about this season?
We have put in a ton of work this preseason and I am really looking forward to seeing it all pay off. We also have a very diverse meet schedule, so it will be exciting to host and compete against teams from many different conferences.
What is your favorite GymCat memory thus far?
My favorite GymCat memory was when I scored my first 9.9 on bars. I remember seeing my dad in the stands fist bumping and celebrating. That was a goal of mine way before I got to college and I felt extremely accomplished when this happened. My favorite team memory was when we beat Stanford last season. This was our first win of the season and our team really came together and put in maximum effort to come out on top.
