Haylie Hendrickson is a senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Hendrickson competed in every meet during her sophomore and junior years. During her junior year, Hendrickson set career highs on the uneven bars and balance beam with a score of 9.875 on both events against Arkansas. She was also a Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Hendrickson is excited to compete for the GymCats for her final season.
 
How old were you when you started gymnastics? 
I was 6 years old when I started gymnastics.

What is your favorite event and why? 
My favorite event is bars because it's fun to swing around and have the thrill of doing release moves.

Favorite motivational quote?  
"Believe you can and you're halfway there." —Theodore Roosevelt

What is fun and special about Arizona gymnastics? 
The most fun and special part about collegiate gymnastics is having the team aspect. Being able to grow, experience new things and travel together is priceless.

What is your dream job after college? 
My dream job after college is a physician assistant.
 
What motivates you?
The challenge to do just a little bit better than the last time motivates me.

What advice do you have for the underclassmen?
Some advice I have for the underclassmen is to really soak everything in. It goes by so fast, and you'll make friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
A hobby that I have outside of gymnastics is running.
 
What are you looking forward to most about this season? 
I am excited to see this team show everyone what all of our hard work and passion is for.

What is your favorite GymCat memory thus far?
My favorite GymCat memory this far is our team retreat up at Mount Lemmon. The entire trip we just bonded and talked about our goals as a team. My team is my second family, and they make me laugh until my stomach hurts.
