GymCats Prepare for a Battle in the Desert Against ASU

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona gymnastics prepares for their annual rivalry in the desert as they travel to No. 17 Arizona State University on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. MST. The Cats are 9-9 against ASU since 2000, so this weekend is bound to be a fierce competition.
"We are looking forward to having a focused week of practice before we head up the road," said head coach John Court. "The most important thing to us as a program is that we make sets on each event to our fullest capability. ASU is having a break out season and it will be tough in their house; we will be pretty tough too."
Coming Up:
After two weeks of traveling, Arizona will go for a third. The Wildcats will compete against No. 11 Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 2 at 6 p.m. MST. Live stats and live stream will be available on arizonawildcats.com as the competition gets closer.
After Arkansas, the Cats will host a quad-meet against UNC, Air Force, and San Jose State for their final home meet of the regular season. The competition will be held in McKale Center on March 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Injury Report:
Heading into week 7 of NCAA gymnastics, the Cats are battling through injuries. Freshman Payton Bellows went down during her floor routine against Stanford with an injury to her Achilles. Bellows will not return to the Arizona lineup this season, but will return in spring of 2019. Freshman Laura Leigh Horton is also on the sideline with an injury to her hand that she sustained in practice, she will return in Spring of 2019 as well.
