GymCats Prepare for Third Straight Week on the Road

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona gymnastics prepares for their third week of road meet competitions as they head to Fayetteville, Ark. this week to compete against No. 10 Arkansas. The Cats are looking for their first road meet of the 2018 season.
"We are very excited for our match up with Arkansas," said head coach John Court. "I have the highest respect for Mark Cook and the way he runs his program. Our team will grow from this experience in the SEC and we can't wait for Friday night at Barnhill."
Scouting Arkansas:
Last week Arkansas competed in Gainesville against No. 5 Florida where they brought home their highest road score of the season with a 196.875. Arkansas has been flirting with a 197.000 all season but hasn't quite been able to attain it. They are 2-5 overall with a 2-1 record at home for the 2018 regular season.
Last Week:
On Saturday, Feb. 24 the Cats traveled to compete against Arizona State. Arizona lost with a final score of 195.025 to ASU's 196.725.
Junior Danielle Spencer took home second place on the uneven bars competition with a score of 9.825, following Arizona State's freshman Cairo Leonard-Baker who took home gold with a score of 9.850.
Coming Up:
Arizona will be back in McKale for their final home meet of the regular season on Friday, March 9. They will host UNC, Air Force, and San Jose State for a quad-meet competition. Following a week at home, the Cats will travel to LSU on March 17 for their final meet of the regular season.
Pac-12 Championships Come to Tucson:
For the first time in eight years, the Pac-12 Championships are returning to Tucson. Join the Wildcats as they host session 1 and 2 of the Pac-12 final competition in McKale Center on March 24th, 2018. Tickets will be available for purchase starting on Feb. 12 through the Arizona ticketing office at (520) 621-CATS.
