O’Georgia Earns Pac-12 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Honor

Tucson, Ariz. – Junior Bryant O'Georgia was named the Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, March 27th. The Phoneix, Ariz. native is the second Wildcat to win a Pac-12 honor this year following his performance at the Aztec Invitaitonal.

"It is a great honor to have Bryant as the Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week," said head track and field coach Fred Harvey. "It has been a long time coming for him. He has been working hard and his timing, as far as jumping is concerned, has been just a little off but you know the talent is there. For him to be able hit that mark, 2.22 meters, and become Pac-12 Athlete of the Week is absolutely an honor for us as well as Bryant."

O'Georgia competed in the high jump on Saturday, March 24th in San Diego, Claif. The junior cleared 2.22m to win the event, set a new PR, and set the No. 2 mark on the NCAA list. O'Georgia's mark is good for a share of the No. 5 jump in Arizona's history, tied with Roger Curtis who cleared 2.22m in 1978.

Up next, O'Georgia will compete in the Stanford Invitational on Friday, March 30th.
