TUCSON, Ariz. — Improving the fan experience continues to be a strong theme for Arizona Athletics and The University of Arizona this summer. Today the University of Arizona announced the addition of several new local food and beverage vendors. 

Wildcat fans will now be able to enjoy an eegee's frozen drink, a delicious treat generations of Tucsonans have grown up with at events at Arizona Stadium, McKale Center, and Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium. Epic Café was also announced as a new food vendor for those three Arizona Athletics venues. Epic Café represents the sandwich category and promises to offer hearty meat sub sandwiches in addition to healthy alternatives such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Two local barbeque establishments will join Arizona Stadium this season, BrushFire BBQ and Carole's Up In Smoke BBQ. The Sweet Dough Co. will offer donut bites at home events at Arizona Stadium this fall.

The new vendors were selected after a request for proposal (RFP) process conducted by Arizona Athletics, UA Student Unions, and UA Procurement and Contracting Services. A new vendor in the Mexican food category was also selected and will be announced in the near future.

In addition to the new local food and beverage vendors, UA Student Unions will also offer several new menu items for the 2018 football season at Arizona Stadium. Hebrew National Hotdogs will be served throughout all of Arizona Stadium. Fans will be able to find egg rolls, beef skewers, corn dogs, stuffed jumbo pretzels, and fresh roasted cashews, almonds, and pecans offered in the north end zone.

The new concession areas on the lower east side will offer the following additions: smoked turkey legs, chicken wings, mac and cheese in a waffle cone, chicken tenders in a waffle cone, footlong Hebrew National hotdogs,  Sidewinder sandwiches and fries. On the veggie and healthy side, focaccia bruschetta sandwiches, veggie dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and black bean burgers will be available for purchase.

"Our fans asked for more variety, more healthy options, and improved quality from our concessions offerings," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. "I am very pleased with the new food and beverage additions and I know Wildcat fans will be too. I want to thank UA Student Unions for partnering with Arizona Athletics to make it happen."

The announcement of new food and beverage options are the latest in a series of enhancements Arizona Athletics and the university have made to Arizona Stadium. Other improvements include:

• Expanding performances by the Pride of Arizona Marching Band
• Providing more score and stat updates on the videoboard
• Hiring a new PA announcer
• Reducing ticket prices for certain sections
• Introducing new seating in the ZonaZoo student sections on the stadium's east side
• Adding several new restroom and concession areas on the lower south side
• The expansion of beer and wine sales to general public areas of Arizona Stadium
