Arizona Softball Announces Fall Invitational Schedule

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona softball has announced the schedule for the 2018 Arizona Fall Invitational, a three-day, 17-game tournament to take place at Lincoln Park, Friday, Oct. 19-Sunday, Oct. 21.

The tournament will take place at Lincoln Park, located at 8116 E. Escalante Rd., while the Hillenbrand Stadium renovations continues this fall. (Keep up with the renovation with the live stream HERE). All games will be free admission with first-come, first-served seating.

Arizona will welcome Arizona Western, Central Arizona, Eastern Arizona, Phoenix College, Pima College and Mt. SAC to Tucson for the event, which will take place on two fields at Lincoln Park -- Field 5 and Field 8. The softball fields are accessible through the entrance off of Escalante Rd.

The Wildcats will play two games per day and will play all six of their games at Field 5 at Lincoln Park. The Wildcats open up the Invitational against Arizona Western and Central Arizona on Friday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, the Wildcats will take on Phoenix College and Mt. SAC at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively. The Cats will close out the event on Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. vs. Eastern Arizona and Pima, respectively.

The Arizona Fall Invitational will be the only fall games the Wildcats play this season and will be the only opportunity for fans to see the Wildcats play in Tucson until the grand opening of Hillenbrand Stadium in February.

The Wildcats return seven starters and 17 total letterwinners from last season's 43-win, super-regional team from a season ago, including first-team All-American Alyssa Palomino and all-conference players Jessie Harper, Taylor McQuillin, Dejah Mulipola, Reyna Carranco and Alyssa Denham. UA also welcomes in another top incoming class that includes FloSoftball's National High School Player of the Year Marissa Schuld and all-Big 12 transfer Rylee Pierce.
