BY THE DECADE
The
Sean Miller era at Arizona continues one of the strongest decades in program history. Here's a look at the Wildcats' record on a decade-by-decade basis and where the current decade of Arizona Basketball ranks among the top five in program history.
1990-2000: 260-64 (.802)
2010-present: 245-66 (.788)
1920-1930: 121-36 (.770)
1910-1920: 57-18 (.760)
THE MILLERS AND THE HURLEYS
Sean Miller and Bobby Hurley will square off for the seventh time Thursday night. It will mark the ninth time MIller has gone up against a Hurley, and he enters with an 8-0 record. Miller is 6-0 against Bobby Hurley over the past three years, and win a win earlier this year against Dan Hurley and UConn, MIller is 2-0 against Bobby's brother. Miller's Wildcats have swept Bobby Hurley's Sun Devils each of the past three seasons for the 6-0 mark against Bobby. As for Dan, Miller's Arizona squad beat Hurley's Rhode Island team in Tucson in 2013, 87-59, before picking up a road win over Dan's Huskies in Connecticut earlier this season. In addition,
Sean Miller's brother, Archie, the current head coach at Indiana, faced Dan Hurley nine times while Archie was at Dayton and Dan was at Rhode Island. Archie went 6-3 in those matchups. Per UConn SID Phil Chardis, the Millers and Hurleys are two of five sets of brothers that are currently coaching Division I programs. The others are Brian Earl (Cornell) and Dan Earl (VMI), Scott Drew (Baylor) and Bryce Drew (Vanderbilt) and James Jones (Yale) and Joe Jones (Boston).
CONNECTING AT THE LINE
Arizona has proven to be one of the top teams in the conference from the free throw line and the Wildcats are among the league leaders in the category. Arizona is shooting .744 from the line and rank second in the Pac-12, just three percentage points behind Washington State. Like they have done from the 3-point line, the Wildcats have been even better from the free throw line in league games. The Wildcats are 117 for 154 (.760) from the line in eight conference games.
Brandon Randolph and
Ira Lee both missed their first free throws in a conference game last week against USC. Randolph is now 18 for 22 from the line in league games, while Lee is 15 for 19.
Brandon Williams is shooting 80 percent in conference play, having knocked in 28 of 35 attempts. Arizona has had a better free throw percentage than six of its last seven conference opponents.
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
The Wildcats had single-digit turnovers in each of their games in Los Angeles last weekend. It marked the second time this season the Wildcats posted single-digit turnovers in back-to-back games. Arizona ranks 35th in the country and second in the Pac-12 in turnovers per game at 11.3. The Cats have a +3.9 turnover margin on the season, which is the 21st best mark in the country and tops in the Pac-12. The next closest is California at +2.1. Arizona has a +4.8 turnover margin in conference games only, which also leads the league.
SMITH PICKS UP THE SLACK
In 13 non-conference games,
Dylan Smith shot 29 percent from 3-point range, hitting 13 of 45 attempts. He averaged 5.1 points per game and shot 30 percent from the floor all total in 20.6 minutes per game. In eight conference games, it's been a different story for the redshirt junior from Mobile, Alabama. Smith has greatly improved from deep. He's connected on 14 of 32 attempts for a .438 percentage. He's shooting 35 percent from the floor and is averaging 24.9 minutes per game. Smith has had to play several different positions for the Wildcats with limited personnel at times. Smith started at the power forward position against USC, and often sees time at the small forward spot and shooting guard. Smith is 8 of 10 from the free throw line in Pac-12 games after going 13 for 21 in non-conference play. Smith's 14 3-pointers in conference games are tied for tops on the team with freshman
Brandon Williams.
BENCH PRODUCTION
Arizona's bench outscored UCLA's 21-19 on Saturday, continuing a strong season from Arizona's bench crew this season. The Wildcats' bench has outscored the opponent in 14 of 21 games this season, and have tied once more, meaning Arizona's bench has only been outscored six times this season. The bench has combined for 20 or more points in five of the last seven games.
MR. 2ND HALF
Sophomore
Brandon Randolph is Arizona's leading scorer at 14.9 points per game and has scored in double figures in 19 of 21 games this season. As good as Randolph has been all season, he's been at his best in the game's second 20 minutes. Consider: Randolph is averaging 9.9 points per contest in the second half of games and is shooting 48 percent from the floor. In the first half, Randolph averages 4.7 points per contest on 32 percent shooting. Randolph is 17 of 21 from the free throw line in the first half of games and 46 of 52 in the second half. Proving he welcomes the big moment, Randolph is 27 of 27 from the free throw line in the final five minutes of games this season. Randolph also shoots 44 percent from 3 in the second half and 19 percent in the first.
1,000 AND COUNTING
Senior

Coleman had 14 points against the Beavers and eight more against USC and now has 1,020 points in his four-year career. Coleman had one of his best games of the season against Oregon State in Arizona's most recent home game. He played 35 minutes and added five assists, four rebounds and a career-high five steals to his 14 points.
DROPPING DIMES
Arizona's assist production has picked up in conference play, something coach
Sean Miller attributes to better shot selection. The Wildcats have at least 13 assists in six of eight conference games, and had 13 in their most recent outing against UCLA. Arizona posted 17 assists against Oregon State in its most recent home game. In Arizona's 13 non-conference games, the Wildcats had 13 or more assists just five times total. Senior

LEE MAKING HIS MARK
Arizona has seen a rise in production from sophomore forward
Ira Lee in Pac-12 play. Lee is averaging 7.6 points per game, 4.1 rebounds a contest and has 11 blocks in the eight games. The 6-foot-7-inch power forward is 23 of 46 from the floor and a 15 of 19 from the free throw line. Last time out, Lee played a career-high 30 minutes and scored 11 points, and grabbed seven rebounds. He scored in double figures in both games in Los Angeles. Lee had a strong trip to the Bay Area. He had a career-high 12 points against Stanford and followed that up with a five-block game against Cal, adding seven rebounds. Against Oregon, Lee had nine points in 18 minutes of action. Lee has scored five or points in nine of his last 11 games. Prior to that, Lee had scored more than five points just four times in the previous 10 games. On the season, Lee has 80 rebounds. In 27 total games last season, he had just 62. He's already surpassed his totals in points and blocks as well as free throws made and attempted.
