Tucson, Ariz. – The University of Arizona track and field program will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. to compete in the NAU Friday Night Duels on Friday to open the 2019 indoor season. Competition is set to begin with the throwing events at 3 p.m. MST with running events starting at 5 p.m.
"We are excited to get the season started at NAU," said head track ad field coach Fred Harvey. "It will be a great opportunity to see where everyone is at in terms of readiness for competition. We know they are fit, the Red White and Blue meet was one thing and we saw some good competitiveness there. Now we are putting on uniforms and competing against other people. We are traveling and we want to get a good feel for how people travel and how they prepare themselves for competition. The talent level and what we are capable of doing is not something I am really concerned about that, they have shown a lot of who we are and what we do. Now I just want to see what we do against people in different uniforms. I don't have any expectations other than anything we have been doing in training. We are going to run people in different events. We are going to put together our best 4x4s in terms of trying to get a mark on the board right away."
