TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Arizona men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Pre-NCAA Invitational today. The women took home first place in the 6K white race with a team score of 121 and the men finished 11th in the 8K white race with a score of 234.

In the women's race, Jennie Baragar-Petrash led the Wildcats with a third place finish followed by Kayla Young in 11th, Liz Lansing in 25th, Keelah Barger in 40th, Lauren Neugeboren in 42nd, Bailey Johnson in 44th, and Alaina Kautz in 110th.

On the men's side, Carlos Villarreal was the top finisher coming in fourth place followed by Shem Kemboi in 13th, Turlan Morlan in 37th, Connor McCabe in 75th, Timothy Kibet in 111th, Jeffrey Sillers in 116th, and Christian Montoya in 125th.

"This race was a great win for our women's team," said head cross country coach James Li. "On the men's side, we definitely saw improvement from two weeks ago. We are going into championship races now and we are working on getting the team to nationals. It is still a work in progress, but we are making a lot of improvements."  
The Arizona Wildcats will be back in action in two weeks on November 1 as they will travel to Monmouth, Oregon for the Pac-12 Championships.
