TUCSON, Ariz. --Â Arizona freshman
Vivian Hou has won Pac-12 Golfer of the Month for September in her very first month as a Wildcat.
Â
The Wildcats only competed in one September tournament, and Hou made the most of it. She jumped out of the gates at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, racing to a first-round 68 (-4). She followed that up with an even-par 72 in the second round. She closed her tournament with a final-round score of 68, which was the low round of the day. Hou's performance landed her a second-place finish, which was the best finish by a Pac-12 player.
Â
Hou was one of only seven players to post scores of par or better in each round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Hou was 5-under on par-4s for the week, which was the second best in the field. She also made 37 pars on the week, second most out of the field.
Â
"
Vivian Hou is definitely a force to reckon with," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "There are a lot of good things going for women's golf."
Â
Vivian Hou will be back in action with the rest of the Wildcats at the Stanford Intercollegiate on October 11th.
