TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona softball wrapped up the Arizona Fall Invitational with a 13-0, five-inning victory over Pima on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Home runs by
Jessie Harper,
Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza and
Ivy Davis were three of UA's 13 hits in the game.
Marissa Schuld hit a three-run triple for the Wildcats in the contest.
Four pitchers combined to throw a two-hit shutout.
Alyssa Denham did not allow a hit in three innings, striking out four and walking one in the start.
Marissa Schuld allowed two hits in a scoreless inning while
Hanah Bowen (2) and
Vanessa Foreman (1) both struck out the only batters they faced.Â
Jessie Harper and
Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza hit back-to-back opposite field home runs in the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead.
The Cats plated six more in the third, punctuated by an
Ivy Davis two-run homer. Arizona led 9-0 after three.
In the fifth, the Cats scored four more, three of which came on a
Marissa Schuld bases-loaded triple.
The Wildcats finished their fall tournament 5-0 and are 7-0 this fall. UA wraps up fall ball on Wednesday in a 10-inning game vs. Central Arizona beginning at 6 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium.
