TUCSON, Ariz. --
Alyssa Denham,
Marissa Schuld and
Hanah Bowen threw a combined no-hitter as Arizona softball wrapped up its fall schedule with a 12-0, five-inning victory over Central Arizona on Wednesday at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The trio faced just one over the minimum, a second-inning walk, and struck out eight of the 16 batters they faced. Denham pitched two innings with two strikeouts, Schuld fanned four over two innings and Bowen pitched a perfect fifth with two Ks.
Offensively, the Cats plated a dozen runs on 15 hits in the game.
Malia Martinez went 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBI to lead the way. Martinez was one of eight Wildcats to drive in runs in the game.
The majority of the damage came in a nine-run fourth inning when Arizona sent 14 batters to the plate.
With the win, Arizona finished fall ball a perfect 8-0, outscoring its opponents 110-5.
Arizona will now turn its attention to the 2020 season, which begins on Feb. 8 in Tempe, Arizona at the Kajikawa Classic.
