BOULDER, Colo. -- After falling down 0-2, Arizona stormed back to force a fifth but could not complete the comeback, falling in five sets on Friday evening (25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 22-25, 15-11) to Colorado at CU Events Center.

The Wildcats fell despite a trio of monster matches by three Wildcats.
- Julia Patterson had her 11th double-double of the season, posting 47 assists, 11 digs, six kills, five blocks and two aces in the match.
- Devyn Cross posted a career-high 10 blocks, the most by a Wildcat since McKenzie Jacobson's 11 on Nov. 1, 2015 vs. California. Four of the blocks were solo blocks, one off of her career high and tied for 10th most in a match in school history. Cross added 13 kills on 24 swings.
- Paige Whipple became the first Wildcat to post 20+ kills this season, recording 22 on 57 swings (.246), two shy of her career high. Whipple added 11 digs, good for her sixth double-double.
After dropping the first two sets, the Wildcats were down 14-10 in the third. Arizona rallied in the third, storming back to force a fourth set with a 25-23 win in the third and then force a fifth set with a 25-22 win in the fourth, but the Cats fell, 15-11, in the fifth.
The Wildcats fell to 12-11, 2-9 Pac-12 on the season while the Buffaloes improved to 9-12, 1-10 Pac-12. The Cats will face No. 17 Utah on Sunday in Salt Lake City.
